SUSAN AMBROSE
Art to me, whether painting or music, is synonymous with DRAMA.
I was an Opera Singer in Europe for 16 years, before returning to find my roots in Canada, settling in Oakville. For years my life was the international standard of phrasing and tone, interpreting the great masters' music, Beethoven, Mozart, Verdi, Wagner.
Now, rather than interpreting, I find joy in creating the sweep of the phrase through paint movement, and the tone through colour.
I love to see the canvas come alive. I love the dance of push and pull of colour and shapes as they appear before me.
I really love to paint. Sometimes I am nervous about starting a new canvas, but once the paint hits the canvas --Wow--look at that! Isn't that exciting! Drama!
